About Truffle Studio

How Truffle Began

Truffle was established in 2019 by founder Amanda Fudge, born out of a simple but frustrating experience, searching for her own upholstered headboard that didn’t feel mass-produced or come with an eye-watering price tag. Faced with uninspiring off-the-shelf designs or costly bespoke commisons, Amanda saw an opportunity to do things differently.

Driven by a passion for interiors and craftsmanship, Amanda set out to create a studio offering high-quality, bespoke upholstered headboards that are beautifully made, thoughtfully designed, and accessible in price.

What began as a part-time hobby, hand-making headboards in a small cabin at the bottom of her garden, has since grown into Truffle Studio as it is today.

Made In England

Today, Truffle is based in Harborne, Birmingham. From the first cut of fabric to the final stitch, each upholstered headboard is made to order in our studio, ensuring exceptional attention to detail and finish. We make sure we are always hands-on, personal, and flexible, offering guidance throughout the process and creating bespoke pieces that feel truly individual to each customer.

What We Do

We specialise in bespoke upholstered headboards, designed to elevate bedrooms through thoughtful shapes, beautiful fabrics, and considered details.

Our collection includes a wide range of headboard designs available in more than 5 sizes, alongside made-to-measure valances and ottomans.

If your bed is not a standard size, we can create a bespoke solution tailored precisely to your requirements.

Later this year we will be launching our ‘Truffle in house fabrics’ as so many of you ask if we have a collection to choose from. Exciting stuff!

Fabrics & Finishes

We work with well-known design houses as well as independent, niche fabric makers, carefully selecting materials that combine durability with beauty. We’re always happy to advise on fabric suitability, trims, and edging details, helping you create an upholstered headboard that feels cohesive, practical, and perfectly suited to your space.

Use our contact form for any questions on fabrics.
